Read the following in-depth articles to expand your knowledge about 3-way switches. Note: The switch leg (i.e. hot) wire feeding the actual fixture must NOT be white and must NOT be a white that has been remarked as hot. A white wire may be used to feed the hot connection to the switch but not to the actual fixture connection. White wires feeding the hot connection to the switch or between switches must be re-designated by wrapping a piece of black electrical tape around both ends of the wire. At each electrical box, all bares are connected together and grounded to box (if metallic). Please read all instructions carefully.
