Fiber Cement Siding Colors

Fiber Cement Siding Colors

There are numerous colors to choose from when you are looking at fiber cement siding. This mostly depends on your personal preference; however there should be a few things considered when choosing a color.

Deciding on the Right Fiber Cement Siding Colors

First off, if you choose one of the preset colors from the factory the sealant is better and thus resistant to moisture for longer. Don't let this be your only deciding factor though, it is still a possibility to paint it yourself, just be prepared to do it more often. Keep in mind that darker colors attract heat and can make your structure look smaller. The darker colors also give the appearance of the home being set further back on the land. This would probably work well for someone who doesn't have much of a front yard and wants to extend the look of the acreage. On the other hand lighter colors tend to reflect heat and give the allusion of a larger building. This works great if your home is smaller and you want to allow it to stand out. It can make the building look more front and center and helps with an understated piece of property. If you are having a hard time deciding on just one, there is the option of doing a two toned house. You can alternate the colors, make the front and back the same and the sides the same color. Also, putting a darker shade on the bottom half and a lighter tone of the same color on the top half would be a nice touch. Lastly, when choosing a color for your fiber cement siding would be to look at the surrounding houses. You don't want a color that will clash, nor do you want to have the exact color as your next door neighbor.
